‘Downtown’ development: ‘We are trying to do everything we can to bring the city back to life’

A new study, however, suggests that the urban densification plan, as it’s being called, could have more impact on those things than the city itself.
That’s because, according to the authors of the report, “The density of residential, commercial, and retail units in the urban core of the U.K. has decreased by more than 60 percent in the last 30 years, and is expected to decline by 50 percent in urban areas by 2050.”
